So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Imported from the old lesombre.ca…

Well it’s finally here. The Great Farniente. El relaxo. The two weeks in the year where I’m officially not doing anything… For money. Does it mean I will actually relax? Not likely. Does it means I will actually get up around noon and go to bed around 20:00? Not really.

It means these next 15 days will be used to build what Lovely Wife refers to as “family memories”.

I’ll still get up at 5:15, to make most of the day. There will be a lot of driving involved. I might end up sleeping in a tent somewhere (like I would have to do if I didn’t own a house, you know). This might be the year where we renovate the bathrooms. Yes, that “s” is not a typo. Since the Zadorables will be with us, we’ll get to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner, instead of just breakfast and dinner. We’ll get to entertain them 15 hours per day. Ah, the memories.

We’ll get to do a lot of things together as a family: We’ll get sunburned together, we’ll catch the turista together, we’ll get stuck in an airport together, we’ll stand in line together. We’ll get bitten by a rabid dog in a dark alley at night together (don’t ask). At least we’ll be together.

I can’t wait to get back to work. Just kidding. Sorta.
